I love it and lost 8 pounds in my first week ...

This is a program that is a natural dietary change, this is not a fad diet at all. The diet points out the physical impact white and beige foods (carbs, sugars, sweeteners, starches, etc.) have on your body and your fat production process. The system is natural and filled with whole foods and vegetables. I love it and lost 8 pounds in my first week on the diet. I only have another 5 to 10pounds that I want to lose to hit my best weight and it is amazing how quickly it can work. I did the diet 6 years ago and had great results and my blood test changed just as predicted to where my cholesterol and triglycerides fell to normal levels that were the lowest of my life within 6 to 8 weeks on the diet. I then fell off the wagon and added the whites and carbs back in heavily over the past year so I gained the weight back. This time I will stay in control and have a day a week that I can eat what I want and then stick to the diet the rest of the week so that I can maintain my perfect weight but not deprive myself completely of the "bad foods".. I love this program and it works if you work it!!!

Life Changer!

This diet has changed my life! After following it for only about two weeks, I noticed many health issues (that were plaguing me) were disappearing. I have never felt better! I have been on it now for almost eight years and I have basically stopped aging while my friends pass me by. The diet starts out slowly -I started on the end diet which has mostly raw vegetables and fruits as an immune system course (for my continuing education to maintain my nursing license) also recommends raw food to boost the immune system. As a result, I have not been sick since I started this diet.

I'm on my way and very happy to be learning more good habits

So far I'm very enthusiastic! I've lost 7 lbs the first week and I'm not that heavy. Went from 172 to 165, my ideal weight would be about 147. I'm doing this mainly to reduce cholesterol and blood pressure. 5 years ago I got rid of the carbs and lost 20 lbs and put it back on. Since then I've been changing my eating habits little by little. First Atkins, then Paleo, now Dr Gundry.... I've adapted many permanent changes over time and continuing to do so. This book is just another tool in my belt. Now that I'm pushing 60 years old, it was very hard to start the weight loss process. Nothing was changing my metabolism anymore. This book worked! I'm on my way and very happy to be learning more good habits! Can't weight to get a blood test in a few months to see what my cholesterol is.

WOW! This was BAD!

Sorry to pan ANY author, but I just don't get it. I tried the sample, and it seemed good, so I gave it a try. It almost felt like the sample, and the book were written by two different people. I struggled through this book, and did not finish it. Asked for my money back. I really wanted to like it. But I could not. Some books flow well, this one was confusing, and boring. I had to go back and re-read parts, because they just did not make sense!! And conversations jumped from one subject to the next with no explanation. Characters kept walking away from each other everytime they had a near adult conversation. It was indicative of their youth, you think they would have grown-up by now!! Then there are the weirdest sentence structures, and a lot of, "he did this", then he "did this", then "she did this" with no emotion, no love. And moronic metaphors and descriptions. When he is about to make love to her, we hear "and then he was at her portal". Really????? I did not feel the love, or the passion. This book was a flop. This author's writing style is not for me.

2.5 Modiste malarkey...

2.5 Elin had been promised to Gavin since birth, she loved Ben, her mother died suddenly, Elin retreated to her family's country estate to mourn. After her mourning period, a modiste appeared saying she had been sent by Elin's father ~ she had in hand a letter written by the father's secretary. I was okay up to this point.

But. The modiste immediately began issuing orders to Elin, insulting her, ordering the household staff about. Now I ask you, what pampered heiress would stand for such treatment one second? What mere modiste would dare to behave so outlandishly? This went on and on. The whole thing was a convoluted lead into the soon-to-come attempt to kill Elin. The rest of the story was pretty fair but the bad aftertaste of the contrived nonsense with the modiste flavored the entire novel for me. And it wasn't even necessary to the plot! Where was the author's imagination?

Another thing ~ during the modiste rigamarole, Elin thought the fabrics brought by the modiste were definitely sub-par. Later in the story, she thought they were oh-so-beautiful. Which was it? Did an editor even glance at this novel?

Otherwise, the story wasn't bad. I don't recommend it, though. Spend your money and your eyesight on another one.

Fun and light with a few twists and some moments of complete self-indulgence

I’ve read the prequel to this series, and enjoyed the literary obsession of the heroine, fobbed off by many as just another pretty face. In this story, Elin has everything every girl should want: a wonderful debut season topped with an engagement to a Duke, making her the envy of her friends. Now, her life is in the country as the wedding plans are being made and her fianc� Gavin has decided his brother Ben must give up ‘playing soldier’ and return home to assist him.

Dancing the line between convention of the time and appealing to more modern readers, Maxwell dances Elin’s former crush, Ben, stirring up her old feelings for him, despite her anger at being ‘abandoned’. Ben believes Elin is too good for his arrogant brother, and he doesn’t appreciate being made to tuck tail and obey his every whim.

A slower pace sets the tone as the history between Elin and Ben is revealed, her father’s plans for her marriage to a peer and the slow redevelopment of their relationship, one that could set the ton on its ear. But, all is not quiet in the country, and whether it is sibling rivalry with Ben and Gavin, a bit of censure of Elin because of her relationship with Ben years ago, or the fact that someone wants Elin dead, the story takes several twists, none of which seem to be noticed by Gavin. When Ben rescues her, and they are able to admit the feelings that still exist, the rather loosely defined love triangle faces another crisis point. Will Elin marry the Duke, the dream of all young women of her station, or will she truly make a match of the century with her fated love?

Fun and light with a few twists and some moments of complete self-indulgence on Elin’s part, a not very kindly Gavin and the true feelings that never seem to fade make this an enjoyable afternoon getaway read.

I have had many copies of this cookbook. The first one I bought was from Knotts's Berry Farm when I worked there 20 years ago. Quite frankly, I have made every recipe in that book many times and they are all wonderful. I would recommend this cookbook to any you love great old fashioned food.

Memories CAN be bought and duplicated

About the Author
Thomas O'Hare is an associate professor at Boston College. He has an MSW and a Ph.D. from Rutgers University. He has also worked as a clinical social worker and served as director of quality assurance for the South Shore Mental Health Center in Charlestown, Rhode Island. He has written or contributed to many articles, most of which focus on co-occurring mental health and substance abuse problems in young adults and persons with serious mental illnesses. He is a long-time advocate of evidence-based social work practices.

Extremely informative, comprehensive and well-researched--the "proverbial" guide to recommended EBP for social workers.

Although lengthy (547 pages long) and, at first glance, more appropriate to be used as a textbook for social work graduate students, I can now see just how effectively this book can be used as a reference to social workers at ALL levels of practice. After becoming a social worker 33 years ago I found it to be extremely helpful in updating my knowledge base as to what research has shown to be effective social work practice these days.

The book is written by an MSW with a PhD from Rutgers who is an associate professor at Boston College. He is a long-term advocate of evidence-based social work practice. He defines this in Part 1:Defining Evidence-Based Practice in Social Work which includes four chapters everything from Definition, Processes and Principles to Qualitative and Quantitative Assessment to Selecting and Implementing Interventions to Evaluating Interventions and Programs.

Part 2: Psychosocial Problems of Adults contain the next six chapters with a heavy emphasis on Substance Abuse and Dependence in Chapter 6. Chapter 5 details Schizophrenia, Chapter 7 Panic Disorder with Agoraphobia and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Chapter 9 Depression and Chapter 10 Antisocial and Borderline Personality Disorders.

For those social workers working with couples and/or children and adolescents the author further details what he recommends in Part 3:Psychosocial Problems of Couples, Children and Families. In Chapter 11 Distressed Couples he describes the often ignored social problem of domestic violence not ony with heterosexual couples but in gay unions as well. Chapter 14 later deals with Child Abuse and Neglect. Chapter 12 has to do with recommended social work practices with Anxiety and Depression in Children and Adolescents, Chapter 13 Conduct Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder in Children and Adolescents, Chapter 15 Eating Disorders in Adolescents and Young Adults and Chapter 16 Substance Abuse and Risky Sex in Adolescents and Young Adults.

Each chapter is similarly structured with an ASSESSMENT portion containing Background Data, Theories, Key Elements of Multidimensional/Functional Assessment and Instruments. Then the author proceeds to a section on SELECTING EFFECTIVE INTERVENTIONS describing what works and hasn't worked based on credible research done with the client populations cited. There is then a section on IMPLEMENTING AND EVALUATING THE EVIDENCE-BASED INTERVENTION PLAN containing a Case Study (to use an illustrated example) and then recommendatiions on "how to" apply assessment, select and design intervention and monitor and evaluate client progress. Finally the SUMMARY of the chapter is given.

In the Appendices the author details eight instruments that can be used with client populations including the Psychosocial Well-Being Scale (PSWS), Shortform Asssessment for Children (SAC), Practice Skills Inventory (PSI), Substance Abuse Treatment Self-Efficacy Scale (SATSES), Addiction Severity Scale, Score Form:Borderline Personality Disorder Severity Index:Version IV, and Scoring Worksheet for PTSD Index.Child Version.

As you can see this is quite a comprehesnive and detailed guide for the use of effective social work interventions with populations referenced. I marvel at how much work the author put into writing this book not to mention his own knowledge and practice base. I can highly recommend this book to both novice and experienced clinical social work alike.

Chandan Jash is a senior consultant in IBM India who has worked with SAP Manufacturing solutions for more than nine years. He has worked on a number of SAP MII and ME implementation projects, and has helped build SAP ME competency inside IBM. He currently works as an architect and SME for SAP ME implementation projects.

Dipankar Saha is an IT architect and service delivery lead for SAP MII and SAP ME at IBM India who works with clients globally to define SAP ME and MII implementation architectures. He previously worked for SAP Labs India and was involved in the design and development of SAP MII after its acquisition from Lighthammer. He has worked on SAP manufacturing solution development and delivery for more than 10 years.

Hi Everyone i have just purchased this book and not able to restrict myself in writing a review for this book in less then a week.

Content in Brief : This books explains

1. ME configuration and the various related activities like Activity hooks , configuring site etc
2. It also gives clear idea that what configurations needs to be done in SAP MII, MEINT and NWA for ME integration
3. Language is very simple and clear to understand

Books has more then 400+ i have read half of this book till now and believe me its a great book for those who want to get deep knowledge about SAP ME and its integration with ERP. Each and every steps has been covered in detailed manner including ME configuration .

A must buy book for all those who want to learn ME. I strongly recommend this book.

Exceptionally well-written and illustrated

As a neuromuscular therapist for 20 years, I feel confident in recommending the Gentle Yoga through Somatic Exploration workbook to my clients of all age groups and abilities. I have found the workbook to be an essential part of my exercise program. I suffered from a frozen shoulder for several months and found little relief through other healing modalities. After taking somatic exploraton classes with James Knight and following the movements in the workbook, I now have full range of motion in my shoulder. The gentle movements are surprisingly effective. Each movement has detailed, easy-to-follow instructions and photos.

A great contribution for students of Yoga Asanas

This well written book, allows one to explore Yoga Asanas with a very good description of working with and understanding your energy aka your prana.
James, helps you understand the idea of movement with purpose, poise and strength rather than strain and pain. As a Chiropractor, I can attest to the safety and the enjoyment of this approach to Yoga Asanas. The photographs and the explanations are descriptive and well thought out. James is a very gifted and sincere teacher and he is always willing to share his knowledge with a positive vibration.

Excellent resource, feeling so much better

This workbook, along with working with James, has enabled me to end the years of debilitating pain and stiffness that I used to experience. Having had two accidents where I had herniated discs, I was prone to stress related lock ups in my neck and upper back.

In using the techniques that James outlines, I have been able to use preventative methods to avoid such issues. It is like night and day. I tried numerous variations of chiropractic, stretching, physical therapy and had not had the relief that I have found with James' practices.

I am grateful for his help for me.
